It’s Time to Reimagine Our Region’s Water Future
California’s droughts, growing population, increased environmental regulations and climate change impacts continue to challenge water agencies as they plan for current and future water supplies. In the Sacramento region, water managers realize they need solutions that diversify our region’s supplies, ensure water reliability and help the state’s water delivery system. The proposed RiverArc Project is our solution.
Most Sacramento-area water agencies rely solely on the American River as their single water source. In the early 2000s, water agencies explored the Sacramento River as an alternative source but stopped when the economy slowed in 2005. Today, the agencies are reviving this vision through the proposed RiverArc Project — a project that offers regional and statewide benefits.
